Sorry but we’re going to say it – winter is just around the corner! Ok, a few months away yet but the weather does like to throw us a few curve balls, so we figured forearmed is forewarned. Here we are offering a few top tips to ensure that your garden furniture is ready for whatever winter throws at it!
Let’s get under the covers
Keep the winter weather at bay with our simple and effective garden furniture covers, designed to fit everything from two-seater bistro sets to four, six and eight-seater dining tables, as well as corner dining collections of all sizes. Simply select the right size for furniture and slide the cover over the full set, being careful to tuck in the cover to avoid it being whisked away by a gust of wind.
For additional peace of mind, add a Furniture Cover Support Kit, which includes vertical support to increase rain run-off and eight ‘sandbags’ which will help to weigh down your cover to keep it secure no matter how windy the winter might become.
Parasols, cushions and sun loungers can also be provided with some winter covers designed exclusively for these products.
The ravages of winter weather can quickly take your furniture from insta-glam to bedraggled, however a little bit of prep will ensure your chairs, tables and loungers will be looking their best come spring 2022.
For wooden furniture, reach for the Wood Cleaner, which uses a non-hazardous, water-based formula to clean dirt and grime from wood, helping to bring it back to its original colour. Follow up with the Wood Sealer to further nourish and restore the natural colour and grain of the wood, and finish with the Wood Protector to prevent future spills during al fresco dining from seeping into the wood. An afternoon spent sprucing up your wooden furniture before winter storage will pay dividends in the long term.
Textiles can also be treated to a much-needed winter makeover with the Textile Cleaner, which brings cushions and upholstery back to life, whilst the invisible Textile Protector provides a barrier against staining, and makes fabrics water and dirt repellent.
Can’t say no to cushions
A cushion is a perfect way of adding an individual touch to your garden furniture and no doubt your cushions have been put to good use over the summer months. LifestyleGarden®’s range of cushions are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use so once the summer takes its leave why not bring them indoors to add a splash of summer colour to living rooms, bedrooms and conservatories.
You can stand under my umbrella
If you do want to head out into the garden during the winter months, then a parasol is an ideal solution. Providing protection from the elements, under a parasol is the perfect place for a wintry cup of tea, a place to quietly enjoy the winter sun or shelter from the snow whilst the kids go mad in the garden.
